    American press secretary and former actress (born 1995)

    Caroline Mohr Sunshine (born September 5, 1995) is an American political aide and former actress, who previously worked as a White House staffer during the Donald Trump administration in 2018. As an actress, she is best known for her co-starring role as flashy, rude European exchange studentTinka Hessenheffern on the Disney Channel series Shake It Up. Sunshine has also appeared in the feature film Marmaduke (2010) and the direct-to-video film The Outfield (2015).

    Caroline Sunshine was born on September 5, 1995, in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents Thom and Karen Sunshine.[2] She was raised in Orange County, California, and has two younger brothers, Johnny and Christopher.[2][3] Sunshine began studying ballet at the age of 3 and landed her first lead role playing Goldilocks in a kindergarten play.[2][3] She later moved on to acting with the Orange County Children's Theater and dancing competitively with the South Coast Performing Arts studio in Tustin, California.[3][4]

    Before joining the Public Interest Law Center and Academic Careers Program in 2018, Naomi Sunshine was Associate Director of NYU’s Lawyering program, where she taught Lawyering for three years and was a supervising attorney in the Immigrant Rights Clinic. Prior to coming to NYU, Naomi was an associate at public interest law firms in New York and San Francisco. There, she represented workers and consumers in federal and state wage and hour, employment discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, consumer, and disability access class actions. She previously clerked for Judge Constance Baker Motley and Judge Victor Marrero of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

    Naomi earned her BA from Yale University and her JD, cum laude, from NYU School of Law, where she was an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellow. During law school she participated in NYU’s Immigrant Rights Clinic, and interned at the ACLU, the NYCLU, the Urban Justice Center, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and Immigration Equality. She served as an Articles Selection Editor for the NYU Review of Law and Social Change.
