Alan Feltus (b. , Washington, DC) studied at the Cooper Union where he received his BFA in , and at Yale University where he received his MFA in Feltus is well-known for his paintings of female figures inspired by classical Greek sculptures and early Renaissance art. Created without the use of live models, Feltus’s paintings are intuitive, portraying the complexities of human relationships through the use of negative space. About his work he says, “I am interested in the psychological play that can be variously interpreted between my figures.”
Feltus’s work has been shown in many solo and group shows including exhibits at the Lux Art Institute in Encinitas, CA, and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art.
