Dato’ Abdul Majid Khan
Dato’ Abdul Majid Khan was formerly the Ambassador of Malaysia to the People’s Republic of China, a post he has held for seven years until his retirement on 2nd January 2005.
Dato’ Abdul Majit, a career Diplomat, joined the Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 1970. In his thirty- four years of service, Dato’ Abdul Majit has served in the Prime Minister’s Department as well as in several Malaysian Missions abroad and senior positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia. From October 1972 to February 1976, Dato’ Abdul Majit served as Secondary Secretary in Laos. He was transferred to Embassy of Malaysia, Hanoi, Vietnam, at the end of the Vietnam War and served as the First Secretary until February 1981. He was appointed the Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia, Beijing (PRC) from February 1981 to October 1985.
Dato’ Abdul Majit returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia and was promoted as the Undersecretary of Southeast Asia and Pacific Division. From June 1988 to November 1989, he served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington D.C. Early life and education

He is a nephew of the late Seth Ahmed Dawood (1905–2002) who was considered one of the pioneering industrialists of Pakistan.[4]
Career
[edit]Dawood began his career in the family business at Lawrencepur Woolen and Textile Mills in 1968 and later joined Dawood Hercules Chemical Limited as the managing director where he served until 1981.
